Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who was partnered with Brendan Cole on the 11th series of Strictly Come Dancing in 2013, has claimed he was left very disappointed that the professional dancers and celebrities hadn't been treated equally
Strictly Come Dancing 's former pro Brendan Cole was "really grumpy" after what appeared to be a snub by BBC producers, his ex-dance partner has claimed.
Rachel Riley, of Countdown fame, confessed she had discovered her long-forgotten celebratory bottle stashed in a cupboard. Worried it might now "taste like vinegar," Rachel nonetheless entertained the thought of sampling it. Chatting on the Spinning Plates podcast this year, Rachel reminisced: "Do you remember they gave us a bottle of champagne that's got Strictly Come Dancing and the year on it? I mean, I'm sure it tastes like vinegar. I looked in our cupboard and I found that and I was like 'you know what? In September, whenever it is, I'm going to open that. I'm going to see what it's like'.
Sophie Ellis-Bextor, who is set to appear on Pointless Celebrities tonight, has previously spoken highly of her Strictly partner Brendan Cole, describing him as a "complete gentleman". However, in her 2021 book, Spinning Plates, she revealed that her participation in the BBC show caused tension with her husband, Richard.
