I’m just back from the Downing Street lobby briefing. Here are the key points. Number 10 refused to say when the next meaningful vote on Theresa May’s deal would be held. The prime minister’s spokesman said it remained the case “that we will only bring the vote back if we believe that we are in a position to win it”. The spokesman said that the Letwin amendment being debated tonight would unbalance the constitution.
