MARK FRANCOIS savaged former Conservative MP Sam Gyimah as he accused him of defecting to the Liberal Democrats to avoid deselection in East Surry in a fiery clash with the former Tory leadership contender.
The deputy chairman of the European Research Group took aim at Mr Gymiah for his defection as he suggested the former Tory MP had his own reasons for joining the Liberal Democrats. But Mr Gymiah hit back at the claims and said he won the vote against starting deselection proceedings and demanded that Mr Francois retract his statement. He cited his reasoning for defecting was due to the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson removing the whip from 21 rebel MPs.
