Authorities in Brigham City initially investigated the death of a woman found in a Box Elder County creek as a homicide but have now said that foul play is not
was discovered dead in Box Elder Creek on Feb. 27 after her husband reported her missing earlier that morning.
Escalona-De Angola had visited the emergency room at Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden before her death. Investigators obtained search warrants for her medical records as part of the investigation. Brigham City Police Corporal Matt Knudson said that there was probable cause to believe evidence related to criminal homicide may be found at both the apartment and in the hospital records.
