A 'brilliant' father-of-three tragically died in a car crash on the M25 while transporting his late mother's ashes back home from Gatwick Airport . 68-year-old Ralph Ellis had recently travelled to South Africa to visit his ailing mother, who sadly passed away. Ralph was driving home on December 16th when the accident occurred. He was set to become a grandfather in February and leaves behind his beloved children, Tess, Alex, and Blake.
Blake, the youngest son, spoke of his profound grief, describing his father as a 'brilliant dad' who was always active and supportive. He shared cherished memories of Ralph teaching his children essential life skills like swimming, cycling, and playing sports. Blake emphasized his father's kindness and love, stating, 'He was everything you'd expect from a dad.' He added that the loss has been incredibly traumatic and the reality of the situation hasn't fully sunk in yet. Ralph was originally from Essex but relocated to Norfolk in the 1980s to establish a window cleaning business. His son Blake described him as a positive and determined individual who, despite facing some health challenges later in life, never let them hinder his spirit. Ralph was a passionate sports fan, particularly enjoying snooker and football. He also found joy in gardening and attending live rock and blues concerts. Blake concluded by saying his father will be deeply missed by the entire family. Essex Police confirmed they were called to the anti-clockwise carriageway of the M25 between junctions 27 and 28 at 11 am on December 16th. They stated that one man was pronounced dead at the scene while two others were transported to the hospital.
