Preston City Council will now decide if retrospective planning permission can be granted for the mural
A huge Preston mural championing the city's identity could be whitewashed after it was painted without planning permission. Now, its fate lies in the hands of town hall officials.
“Exquisite”, “stunning” and “incredible” were amongst the glowing descriptions bestowed upon the work – and the Facebook group’s administrators declared it “the most popular post we’ve ever had”. He added: “I wanted to create a piece for the people of Preston, something that you can all take ownership of and feel proud of when talking about our city – Proud Preston.”
Only relevant planning matters can be taken into account and details of how to frame comments in that context can be found on the Preston City Council website by searching the site for “commenting on planning applications”.
