ndependent Senator Jacqui Lambie says Opposition Leader Peter Dutton needs to “come down off his pedestal” as she claims he has yet to meet with her since taking up the leadership role.“When it comes to Peter Dutton, he certainly is not reaching out to the crossbench. That really bothers me because he’s got to have a relationship,” Lambie told Nine’s Today.“I don’t know about the teals, but I haven’t even had a cup of tea with him or coffee, since he’s been the opposition leader.
”Lambie then called on Dutton to “work the corridors”, suggesting he may need the support of the crossbench to form a minority government after the next election.“I just say to him out there, I think that might want to come off his pedestal a bit and actually start working those corridors because he’s going to probably need mates from elsewhere... if he does become the leader in the future.
