Brisbane champion Joe Daniher has called time on his AFL career. The star forward, who played a pivotal role in the Lions’ premiership, has walked away from the AFL despite having a contract for 2025.
Joe Daniher celebrates his second goal in the grand final. 7NEWS chief AFL reporter Mitch Cleary first revealed Daniher was considering his future the night before the grand final and confirmed Daniher’s retirement on Thursday afternoon. Daniher told teammates on Thursday before the club’s best and fairest award tonight. The enigmatic 30-year-old kicked 2.4 in the Lions’ massive win over Sydney in the grand final.
