Bristol City Women, currently second in the Championship table, are looking to continuously improve their performance despite a string of wins. Head coach Stephen Kirby acknowledges areas for development and plans to strengthen the squad in the upcoming transfer window.
Bristol City Women are not yet 'near the full product' says head coach Stephen Kirby after their third consecutive Championship win on Sunday. City Women are second in the table, level on points with league leaders Birmingham City following their 5-0 thrashing of Durham on the weekend.'I still don't think we're near the full product,' Kirby told BBC Radio Bristol.
'I still think there's lots of key areas that we can and will work on going into 2025 but that's a good thing because that's constant evolution for us to keep pushing.' City are looking for an instant return to the Women's Super League after being relegated following just one campaign in the top flight in May. They have won six out of eight Championship matches under Kirby, who took over from Lauren Smith in the dugout, with two losses.'There will be some movement out as is usual the case in a window. We will look to add to the squad again so we can keep continuing these types of performances ,' Kirby added. 'We will deliberately bring in players who the ethic of the team and continue to add and contribute from that perspective. 'That's what we're after - constant improvement and to do that we need to keep adding to the squad in terms of numbers and quality, so we can continue to build on for the rest of the season and beyond.' The club now have a three-week break until their next game, away to Arsenal in the FA Cup fourth round on 12 January, before they play London City Lionesses at Ashton Gate on 19 January
