Bristol Palin has provided an update on her concerning facial paralysis . The reality TV star used her Instagram Stories to share a recent photo with followers, subtly implying she is managing her condition. In the image, Palin, a Texas-based realtor, stands in her home's foyer, taking a mirror selfie. She wears a black hoodie and leggings, with black nail polish. Oversized sunglasses obscure her face partially, showing her in a semi-profile view.
'If I just keep my mouth shut I look pretty normal, lol maybe it's a sign,' she playfully captioned the post. Days prior, Palin shared a video on her Instagram Stories detailing her experience with facial paralysis. In the clip, filmed while sitting in her car, she addressed the numerous speculations surrounding the cause of her condition. 'I've seen so much speculation about what this is caused by,' she said. 'So many people are trying to blame the Covid vaccine,' the 34-year-old stated, possibly aligning herself with her mother, Sarah Palin, who was outspoken against the vaccine during the pandemic. Palin asserted, 'I never had the Covid vaccine.' She also dismissed suggestions that Botox or lip fillers were responsible. 'I haven't had filler in years. I had lip filler years ago,' she admitted, pointing to her mouth. 'I haven't done that in a long time too, so, I don't think it's caused by those.'Palin then explained that 'Bell's Palsy can be set off by stress. I'm stressed, I probably don't sleep that great, so it's definitely eye opening for that aspect, but it's super simple, that's likely what it's caused by.' The former Dancing with the Stars contestant, who gained notoriety as a pregnant teenager when her mother ran for Senator John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, shared that Bell's palsy is not a result of the Covid vaccine, despite claims from concerned fans. She went on to star in her own reality show, 'Bristol Palin: Life's a Tripp,' in 2014, featuring her and her son with ex-boyfriend Levi Johnston. Palin later joined the reality show 'Teen Mom OG' in 2018 for a season, shortly after her divorce from former Marine Dakota Meyer. They married in 2016 and share children Sailor, nine, and Atlee, seven. In August 2024, the single mother revealed her then-15-year-old son would move to Alaska to live with his father. Palin found some solace in a trip to the DMV earlier that day. 'It's a weird thing. It happens to quite a few people, so I met people at the DMV saying they've had it before.'Palin, a Texas-based realtor, explained to her followers that Bell's palsy is triggered by stress and that she plans to seek relief through acupuncture and lymphatic massage. The condition affects an estimated 40,000 Americans annually, according to the NIH. She revealed on Wednesday in another Instagram Story clip that she had been dealing with the condition, which at one point caused her to lose all sensation and movement on the entire left side of her face for two hours. Doctors performed a CT scan and prescribed steroids. The author of 'Not Afraid of Life: My Journey So Far' expressed hope that the condition would clear up within a couple of weeks and shared that she was exploring alternative treatments. 'I have more acupuncture next week, I'm going to try a lymphatic massage,' she said. Bell's palsy affects some 40,000 Americans a year, according to the National Institutes of Health, and facial therapy, along with osteopathic manipulative treatment and corticosteroids are among the suggested treatments
