Bristol Rovers have agreed a deal to sign former Bristol City defender Taylor Moore on a free transfer,Moore, 27, is a free agent after leaving French Ligue 2 side Valenciennes earlier this year.

Bristol Rovers are understood to have beaten League One rivals Barnsley and Bolton to secure Moore’s signature, with the centre-back set to become the club’s first signing of the summer. Rovers boss Matt Taylor and his recruitment staff have moved quickly to shore up his defensive options ahead of another season in the third tier.

Moore made 22 appearances for Valenciennes in the French second tier before departing in April, with the Hauts-de-France eventually relegated at the end of the 2023-24 campaign.He departed Bristol City last year after seven years at the club, during which he made 60 appearances for the Robins.
