British tourist 'ran stop sign' and killed two sisters in hire car crash on holiday in California
A UK motorist sped through a stop sign in California while driving a hire car carrying his wife and kids- smashing into a van killing two sisters, it has been reported.
The victims, killed on a highway 40 minutes drive north of Fresno at around 6pm, have been named as Martina Gudino Vargas, 50, and Gregoria Gudino Vargas, 45.A UK motorist allegedly drove through a stop sign on Monday evening in California leaving two sisters dead The women were inseparable and raised their families together on the same property in the small town of Chowchilla – near where the fatal crash ended their lives., the driver from Britain is Agnelo Dsouza, 55, who was driving a Toyota Rav-4 at 55mph when he drove through the stop sign.Their sons Brandon, 26, and Nigel, 22, were also injured although it’s not clear how badly.
Guadalupe Chavez Torres, who was called to the scene by one of the Gregoria’s husband, described the heart-breaking moment the man realised his wife was gone.Emergency workers arrived on the scene and ushered the grieving man away, it has been reported. Two other people in the wrecked Saturn - including 18-year-old Yesena Gudino - suffered moderate injuries and are in hospital, local media reports.The mangled wreck of the sisters' van is inspected by emergency workers
