Britain's Covid resurgence is now receding on ALL fronts: Officials log 116,227 cases over weekend
It means 26,000 Britons have tested positive on any given day in the last week, a drop of 31% on last Tuesday.
Experts say the daily counts are now 'completely irrelevant', however, because they rely entirely on testing. Meanwhile, 2,083 infected people were admitted to hospitals last Monday, marking a 13% week-on-week fall. A further 482 deaths were reported within four weeks of a positive test, down 3% on last week
