A visit to The Lakeside Inn in Southport, Merseyside, reveals a charming pub with stunning lakeside views. Perfect for enjoying the sunshine before autumn arrives.
One of the country's smallest pubs which boasts stunning lakeside views where you can watch the sunset is right here on Merseyside . As we head into autumn, many of us are still hoping to enjoy little moments of sunshine and warmth before the dark nights and cold weather draws in. But for me, I think I've found the perfect spot where you can get the best of both worlds.
You can also see the the Guinness Book of Records certificate and a red plaque proudly on the wall. Husband and wife Stephen and Sue Kirkbride took over The Lakeside Inn a decade ago and continue to welcome customers who have been visiting for years, as well as new who are fascinated by the venue and its history. Stephen, 59, has worked in the hospitality industry for almost 40 years and the couple previously owned The Victoria pub down the road for around 14 years.
