The Met Office has issued a yellow weather for strong winds in areas of Scotland and Northern England as gusts are expected to reach up to 75mph.

Gusts could reach up to 75mph in some areas with exposed coastline and hills on Friday, with the organisation warning there is a chance of injury or danger to life from falling debris. The warning covers most of Scotland apart from Shetland and Dumfries and Galloway, as well as most of north-east England and North Yorkshire.
