The strike will cost British Airways £40million pounds a day
British Airways has told passengers that if they have a flight booked on Monday and Tuesday, it is likely they will not be able to travel as planned
Up to 145,000 passengers will be affected by the flight cancellations, with 1,700 flights to and from London’s Heathrow and Gatwick airports on Monday and Tuesday cancelled. He added: ‘The company’s leaders, who themselves are paid huge salaries and have generous benefits packages, won’t listen, are refusing to negotiate and are putting profits before the needs of passengers and staff.’Chief Executive of British Airways, Alex Cruz, has been criticised for receiving a salary increase from £830,000 to £1.36 million Balpa said the strike will cost BA £40 million a day, claiming the dispute could be settled for £5 million.
‘It is by all accounts an own goal; it’s going to punish customers, it’s going to punish our brand, it’s going to punish the rest of the colleagues.’
