The victim was found in a shallow ditch near a diving centre A British man has died while holidaying with his girlfriend in Thailand, local police say. The victim, thought to be a 31-year-old teacher, was found on March 19 in a shallow ditch outside a diving centre on the island of Koh Tao. Thai police reportedly said the case is still open with no arrests made as of yet. However they believe his death was an accident.
A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: ‘We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Thailand and are in touch with the local authorities.’ Only a few days after the man’s death it was reported that another British tourist had died on the Thai mainland. Ryan Joseph Ralph, 24, was killed when he fell from a moving train in Ratchaburi province while travelling with his girlfriend. The couple were said to have been travelling toward Koh Tao.
