A British social media manager and her South African fiance were found dead in their rented villa in Vietnam on Boxing Day. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths, but no signs of foul play have been found.
The devastated family of an ex-pat Brit who has died in mysterious circumstances with her fiance in a hotel in Vietnam told of their shock at the double tragedy today. Social media manager Greta Marie Otteson, 33, and boyfriend Arno Els Quinton were discovered dead at their villa in Vietnam on Boxing Day morning.
Police in south east Asia are currently investigating the double tragedy, but mystery surrounds the unexplained deaths of Greta, from Swansea, south Wales, and her South African fiance. The couple, who had reportedly drunk wine, were long term residents at Hoi An Silverbell villa, in Hoi An town, central Nam province. They were discovered by resort staff who arrived that morning to clean the property. Today a member of the extended Otteson family in Wales told of how devastated they have been by news of the shock deaths. The family source, who declined to be named, said: ‘We're just hearing about it now. There are no words. We are just in shock. It's all too much.’ He indicated that Greta’s family have no insight yet into what happened to her.
