A bar owner behind a sticker initiative putting messages to tourists through Malaga says he was kicked out of his home so his landlord could bring in short-term renters.
British expats have allegedly been told to "go f****** home" by locals in a Spanish tourist hotspot as tensions in the community heighten.
Some messages have included; "this used to be my home" and the blatant "go f****** home" which reveals the extent of animosity among locals. He spoke of his eviction from a property he called home for a decade with the local newspaper Diario Sur. Dani claimed it was because of the landlord's preference for short-term rentals over long-term tenants."Malaga city centre has been going downhill for a long time." The local politician Dani Perez reflected these sentiments, critiquing the mayor's inaction in dealing with the concerns of Malaga's residents.
Perez has expressed worry regarding the growing number of lockboxes for tourist rentals, stating that authorities are ignoring local people's needs in the city. Recently, it appears that things in the city are changing.
