Customers of major UK energy providers could be getting DWP payments to help with rising energy bills - if they are eligible
UK households are set to receive a total of £785 in energy bill assistance this winter. Customers of major energy providers such as British Gas , OVO, EDF, E.ON , and Octopus will receive five payments to help offset the impact of rising energy bills, which are expected to increase by £150 from October 1 due to the new Ofgem energy price cap.
If you're over the State Pension age and receive a qualifying benefit, you could get £200 towards your bills. For those aged 80 and above, there's an increased amount of £300 available to assist with winter expenses this year. These payments are made directly to the individual claiming the benefit and cover the entire household. Warm Home Discount Another scheme is the Warm Home Discount, which offers a one-off payment of £150 to help with energy costs during the winter.
