British Gas has advised UK households to stock up on five essential items in preparation for three days of predicted snowfall.
British Gas recommended: "Torches, spare batteries and a back-up charger for mobile phones are all handy. The Met Office has cautioned that power outages could affect Yorkshire, the Midlands, north of England, Scotland, and certain areas of Wales and Northern Ireland.
