A British woman tragically lost her life during a Brazilian butt lift procedure after the surgeon allegedly left halfway through, an inquest has heard. Hayley Dowell, 38, had travelled to Turkey in October last year for a series of surgeries including a tummy tuck, BBL and liposuction.
He also stated that he was asked to sign a consent form after her death. Mrs Dowell, from Eastleigh, Hants, is believed to be one of six Britons who died in Turkey in 2023 following unsuccessful medical procedures, reports the Mirror. Mr Dowell recounted the harrowing experience of his wife's surgeries, revealing to the court: "We found a surgeon that had a clinic named after himself. He was one of the surgeons in Turkey," but added that his wife "only consented to two" out of the three operations she underwent. "There was not any risk outlined to her," he claimed.
In a shocking revelation, Mr Dowell said: "They asked me to sign the consent form after she passed away, after the BBL." A full inquest is scheduled for January, with Coroner Nicholas Walker committing to a thorough investigation into the information Mrs Dowell received and the circumstances surrounding her death.
