Brits are being encouraged to rummage through their wallets for a rare coin that could be worth hundreds. A special edition 50p piece from 2009 is fetching up to £300, according to a coin specialist.
"This Olympic 50p coin can be worth £300," he informed his audience. "There are two different versions of this coin and one is worth much more than the other. If you find one with the date 2009 on the back of the coin, then this is the expensive version worth around £300 pounds."
