BRITS in the Balearic Islands will be fined for not wearing a mask from today as authorities warn "the honeymoon period is over".

The news rule came into place on July 13 and apply to virtually all pubic places, with the exception of the beach, swimming pool, countryside or whilst eating or drinking in a restaurant. The level of the fine - £22, £45 or a maximum £90 - will depend on the circumstance and "the severity of the breach" although what this exactly includes has not been explained.
