Brits have ‘had enough’ of Brexit and just want MPs to get on with it, Theresa May blasts
BRITS have "had enough" of Brexit and are desperate for MPs to get on with it at last, Theresa May stormed tonight.
"This delay is a matter of great personal regret for me. And of this I am absolutely sure - you the public have had enough. His comments raise the prospect of a do-or-die Commons showdown next week, with MPs forced to choose between swallowing the PM's deal - even after rejecting it twice - or quitting without any deal on March 29.Mr Tusk did not mention the possibility of a long extension - but he has previously spoken in favour of delaying Brexit by up to two years, suggesting the EU could still swoop in at the last minute to put Article 50 on ice for months to come.
Desperate opposition leaders announced they now support revoking Brexit altogether even without a second referendum to avoid a cliff-edge exit. She told MPs afterwards: "The outcome of a long extension would be endless hours and days of this house carrying on contemplating its navel on Europe. "If the leaders approve my recommendations, and if there is a positive vote in the House of Commons next week, we can finalise and formalise the decision on the extension in a written procedure.
