A poll of 2,000 adults found the longest Brits are willing to wait at the bar to get a drink served is eight minutes and 11 weeks for surgery

Brits have disclosed their threshold for waiting times, suggesting they can stand eight minutes to be served at a pub and an 11-week wait for surgery is acceptable. A survey of 2,000 adults indicated that a 10-minute delay in a supermarket queue would trigger irritation, while they'd patiently wait for eight minutes for the availability of a toilet cubicle.

He observed that people show differing levels of patience for various waits in life, like the anticipation for a cold beer or airport security passage. He noted, "For health matters, clearly, people would like to wait less than they do currently for GP or surgery appointments." It appears 42 per cent have previously jumped a queue and nine per cent do it quite often. Despite this, the majority still see queuing as something very British, with 57 per cent thinking we are more patient than other countries.

He concluded: "Findings from this study have shown that the little things in life can annoy people when they're having to wait, but there's a real frustration when it comes to things that are so much more serious.
