Cobbo moved inside to the centres last season, and while he was still a potent threat at the best of times, it’s fair to say it wasn’t his best year form wise as the Broncos star also dealt with personal issues. With Cobbo and centre Kotoni Staggs both free agents at season’s end, it’s unclear if the Broncos will be able to keep both.
Maguire is thrilled with how Cobbo has returned to Broncos camp, saying he’s come back in good shape. “He is in a really good frame of mind. I’m looking forward to this next month and seeing how he develops,” Maguire said. “At the moment I’ve been playing him on the wing. With what he can do and his carries, how he can play and his height, he is probably on the wing at the moment.”
