Brooklyn man who targeted Jewish men with his car charged with hate crimes, police say
A Brooklyn man was charged with a long list of crimes Wednesday after allegedly saying “I will kill all the Jews” and trying to mow down a group of Orthodox men with his car, according to police.
NYPD officials said Asghar Ali, 58, was arrested after driving his 2011 white Ford Crown Victoria onto the sidewalk near Glenwood Road and 55th Street in East Flatbush at around 11:30 a.m. He allegedly made antisemitic remarks and was heading straight for a group of five men.Ali was charged with attempted murder as a hate crime and roughly a dozen other offenses, including menacing, vehicular assault, reckless endangerment and reckless driving.
