The brothel owner funding the lifestyle of a mum allegedly killed by her boyfriend lamented to her sister that he was always the bridesmaid and never the bride.
Ricardo Barbaro is standing trial in the Victorian Supreme Court for the murder of Ellie Price, whose body was found with fatal knife wounds in the bedroom of her South Melbourne apartment in May 2020.
"They would signal we were together, but I don't think she really understood the significance of why I bought them for her," he wrote to Price's sister Danielle Price, a month after Ellie's death."When I got her the ring she asked me what it was for," he messaged Price. Texts also reveal he was hurt and upset when, despite everything he gave her, she continued to bring home other men, including Barbaro.
