The guard is an Albany native, but has plenty of Central PA ties, as his sister Alexis recently starred on Cedar Cliff's state finalist girls team.

Buie is the half-brother of former Penn State superstar Talor Battle, who is the program’s all-time leader in points scored.The point guard has been one of the most electric talents in the Big Ten since arriving to Northwestern in 2019, as the Albany native became the program’s all-time scorer in 2024, and earned two first-team All-Big Ten honors while leading the Wildcats to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
