Daniel Halliday went missing in the Mersey after 'jumping waves' with his big brother
The brother of a 14-year-old boy who went missing in the Mersey was praised for his bravery after he tried to save him.
The path to the radar tower was closed off and police officers directed passers-by away from the area as the search continued. The teenager, now named as Daniel Halliday, has not been found and on Monday, July 1, the coastguard confirmed the search has been stood down after 15 hours.READ MORE: Give change a chance: Liverpool Echo says vote Labour
ECHO readers reacted to the news and praised Daniel's older brother who tried to save him from the river.
