Coach Andy Leask says he always knew Kara had champion qualities
Broxburn boxing coach Andy Leask beamed with pride as Kara Young won the European Schools’ title in Bosnia, and says he instantly knew she was a special fighter.
Leask said: “It’s an absolutely incredible achievement and everyone at the club is so extremely proud of her. “She actually fought in Hungary with Scotland as well, and got to the final – and Boxing Scotland said she was robbed of that. “Her focus and attitude to training is absolutely exceptional, and I knew I was able to take her to England from an early age, so I took her to tournaments in Oldham and Sunderland, and she won – it was incredible. She continues to progress from there.”
