Bruno Fernandes is yet to get off the mark for Man United this season
It is not just Manchester United's collective struggles that are getting under the skin of Bruno Fernandes .
He said: "As for the club, I want to improve as soon as I get there and make sure the goals start coming again. I have to take responsibility for that too, because I'm a midfielder who scores a lot of goals, and over the years, I've always been at a very high level in terms of goals and I have to live up to that, with those expectations.
Under-fire manager Erik ten Hag has so far failed to come up with a settled attack, not helped by the loss of Hojlund to injury in pre-season, and he is facing the brunt of the criticism. Fernandes, however, has also faced his fair share of criticism for his own performances. Last season, Scott McTominay was a reliable source of goals from midfield, scoring 10 times in all competitions. His tally contributed to an overall figure of 38 goals United scored via their midfielders last term.
