Dark smoke could be seen for miles after a brush fire broke out near Echo Reservoir in Summit County on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
The fire started Wednesday afternoon near Dikker Hill Drive, in an area between Echo and Henefer, close to the junction for Interstates 80 and 84.Ground and aerial resources were called in to fight the flames. Summit County spokesperson Derek Siddoway said there were no evacuation orders in place, nor did they expect any.Officials were still working to determine how the fire started.
