Communications giant BT is embroiled in a planning battle with Blackpool Council to bring its street hubs to the resort.
Planners also wanted to avoid cluttering the town centre with too much street furniture. A report setting out the decision said the hubs “appear to be excessive and unnecessary given the extent to which they are likely to be needed and their anticipated visual impact.
