K-pop superstars BTS member J-Hope has tested positive for Covid-19 on March 24 as South Korea reached 10.82 million confirmed cases.

“We would like to provide you with some information regarding BTS member J-Hope being diagnosed with Covid-19,” said Big Hit Music on March 24.It said that “J-Hope presented symptoms of a sore throat and visited a hospital to take a PCR [polymerase chain reaction] test on Wednesday, March 23, and was diagnosed with Covid-19 today morning [March 24].

The agency said J-Hope will be able to take part in BTS’ activities next month. BTS will attend the Grammy Awards on April 3 in Las Vegas. “J-Hope is planning to take part in activities scheduled to take place next month once his at-home treatment concludes. The company places the artists’ health as our top priority, and we will do everything we can to aid J-Hope in his speedy recovery. We will also diligently cooperate with the requests and guidelines of the health care authorities,” said Big Hit Music.

The isolation period imposed by health authorities on positive cases is seven days. Based on this, J-Hope’s isolation period is expected to end on March 30. South Korea added 395,598 new Covid-19 cases on March 24 due to the highly contagious Omicron variant.
