BTS member Jin has been tapped to be a torchbearer at the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer.

The oldest member of BTS at age 31, Jin returned from his 18-month mandatory military service in June. The remaining six members of the K-pop group — comprising Jung Kook, V, Jimin, Suga, RM, and J-Hope — are currently serving their military duties. Since Jin’s return, he announced he has plans to release a single and appear on television variety shows this year,reported. “I’m working on recording music and filming variety shows,” he wrote in a statement to the news agency. “I’m trying to focus on my main job while showing my face as much as possible. “Especially when we were on tour, there wasn’t time to reflect on myself and figure out what gives me joy, what makes me relax,” Jin said. “Being off the road for a year gave me a chance to really reflect on what I want and who I am, and sort of learn to love myself.
