A 41-31 loss against the Chiefs puts a small blemish on Tom Brady's NFL resume. It's only the fifth time in Brady's NFL career that his team has lost a game when scoring 31+ points.
Could it be that all the Bucs offense needed to get right was to get healthy?
As Kansas City visits Tampa tonight in a rematch of Super Bowl LV, the Bucs are 2-1 but have just three offensive touchdowns in three games. They'll get receiver Mike Evans back from his one-game suspension tonight, and are expected to have two more top-tier receivers in Chris Godwin and Julio Jones, returning from hamstring and knee injuries, respectively. They also should have left tackle Donovan Smith, out since the season opener with an elbow injury.
They'll need all of that to keep up with the Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, who's still throwing touchdown passes even without receiver Tyreek Hill, now in Miami. It's a real test for Tampa Bay's defense, which is given up an NFL-low 9.0 points per game in their first three games, and held the Chiefs to the same nine points in their Super Bowl win just 20 months ago.
