Rogue traders said they were from Sefton Council and they had received complaints her garden wall was dangerous
A builder, along with other members of the community, came together to make a woman's day after a rogue trader knocked down her garden wall.
Her daughter, Bev Hughes, 59, claimed the men gained entry to Shirley's home and, after seeing photos of her late husband, one of them tried to sympathise with her by saying he had lost his grandad.READ MORE: Hotel security 'kept shaking their head' when group tried to check in After refusing to pay any money to the group, Bev said “obviously words were had". The ex-police officer told The ECHO: "They threatened they would take my mum to the small claims court… my husband had further conversations with an alleged manager of the company who also threatened to take the matter to court."
On Sunday, October 24, the builder, who asked not to be named, began cleaning every single brick before relaying them for Shirley. The pensioner's family also installed Ring doorbell security at the home.
