No foul play is suspected, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - A structure fire at an abandoned house on Eielson Street in Fairbanks led occupants of a neighboring home to evacuate Saturday morning.
The 911 call came in just after 8:30 a.m. Saturday, and Fairbanks, University and Fort Wainwright fire departments responded to the blaze. “The initial EMS crew on the ambulance woke up the people on the B-side building that actually started to catch on fire and got them out safely,” Cocarro said. Coccaro said firefighters were on scene for about 2 hours and 20 minutes from start to finish Saturday.
