Extensive enquiries have been carried out into the death over the weekend with forensic experts called to the scene. Police have said today there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
Police looking into the death of a man after a body was found burned near a Motherwell play park have deemed it not suspicious.
Officers were called to football pitches in the town, near Margaret Drive in Muirhouse, after a dog walker found the burned body of a man on Saturday morning, February 24. Formal identification has yet to take place, however next of kin have been informed of the death.Residents woke up to forensic officers in white suits carrying out a detailed examination of the grassy spot where the body was found.
A large cordon was in place around the playing fields with uniformed officers standing guard on Saturday afternoon. Several police vehicles remained stationed on the road throughout the afternoon as officers carried out enquiries. Officers would like to thank the local community for their patience and understanding as enquiries were carried out in the area.
