The Burnley manager has hit back at the criticism he has faced since the goalless draw with Leeds
Burnley manager Scott Parker has defended his team's display in Monday’s goalless draw with Leeds United, stating it was never his intention to play so reserved and that the visitors frustrated his attacking plans.
The Clarets have faced some backlash for their cautious play against Leeds, but Parker defended his side given their good form. Speaking ahead of this weekend's trip to Portsmouth, the former England international said: “It was only a week ago we scored five goals against Plymouth. “Yes, we scored goals there and on Monday night, we don't score against Leeds, who are top of the league. It’s a team that averages around 1.8-2 xG per game, but we reduced them to about 0.37.
