Burrage, who missed most of last season due to injuries, had vowed to savor the experience of playing on one of tennis' biggest stages. And she certainly did, displaying resilience and determination throughout the match. After a shaky start at the Rod Laver Arena, Burrage rallied to win four consecutive games from 3-1 down in the second set, even serving for a decider. However, Gauff, a former US Open champion, regrouped and ultimately prevailed.Burrage, who has experience playing on Centre Court at Wimbledon and Louis Armstrong Stadium at the US Open, admitted to feeling a mix of emotions as she walked onto the court at Rod Laver Arena. While the match was ultimately a loss for Burrage, she proved she can compete with the best in the world. In other Australian Open action, Harriet Dart's impressive run came to an end as she fell to 18th seed Donna Vekic.
