A bus collided with a tree in a rush-hour incident on a main Nottinghamshire road. The pink double-decker came off the A60 Mansfield Road near Papplewick at around 8am on Monday, December 16. Nottinghamshire Police confirmed there were around 20 passengers on board the bus, which was heading for Nottingham. It was a Stagecoach Pronto bus, which runs between Mansfield and the city centre. No injuries were reported, but a number of police cars were visible at the scene.
The bus, which did not overturn, appeared to have landed in a ditch after hitting the tree. Partial road closures were in place to allow traffic to keep moving while officers attended the incident, before being lifted at around 9.50am. A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Police said: 'Officers are currently in attendance on the A60 Mansfield Road near Papplewick following a single vehicle road traffic collision. A bus containing around 20 passengers collided with a tree, just before 8am today (16 December). 'Nobody was injured during the collision, although partial road closures remain in place while the bus is recovered. These are due to be lifted within the next half an hour or so.' A spokesperson for Stagecoach said: “We are aware of an incident on the A60 in Papplewick, Nottinghamshire, this morning, and can confirm there have been no customer injuries from the incident.
