A businessman was removed from a Jet2 flight to Turkey after engaging in disruptive and abusive behaviour while intoxicated. Lewis Howarth's actions, which included swearing at staff, refusing to fasten his seatbelt, and resisting arrest, forced the plane to return to Manchester Airport. Passengers applauded as he was escorted off the aircraft.
A businessman was dragged off a plane to the applause of his fellow passengers after he went on a drunken rampage.
As they approached him, he stood up, initially appearing compliant. However, his behaviour quickly changed when they began walking him towards the exit, a sentencing at Manchester Crown Court was told yesterday . Staff from Jet2 then brought a wheelchair over to be used to escort Howarth. As he was being lifted into it he tried to bite one officer and kicked out at another.
His barrister, William Staunton, said Howarth was travelling with his family and his friend’s family, when his pal ‘peer pressured’ him into having a drink because he was nervous of flying.
