Sarah Jay shared the messages to expose the man's comment after she posted a picture from a work event telling him to 'keep your vulgar opinions to yourself'
A recruitment consultant publicly shamed a businessman who branded her "doable" on LinkedIn - after he blamed her for having a "sexy" profile picture. Sarah Jay, who works as a healthcare recruitment consultant, attended a black-tie work event in August 2024 and decided to share a photo from the night on the business-focused social media platform.
Sarah, from Ipswich, Suffolk, said: "It infuriates me. It is a professional photo. It was at a work event. It's not like it was revealing in any way. But even if it was, it doesn't mean you're able to say those sorts of comments. It makes you feel disgusting. The recruitment consultant said she wanted to expose the LinkedIn user's 'disgraceful' language to spread awareness before blocking and reporting his profile as well as notifying his workplace. Sarah said: "The only reason why I did post it was because I'd had quite a few vulgar, weird messages from men on LinkedIn previously. It's not just LinkedIn, it has been other social media platforms as well.
The 24-year-old says she has even dealt with 'vulgar' comments in the workplace. Sarah said: "It's horrible. Yes, I'm a woman. I'm a younger woman as well and I do have quite a few tattoos which a few people do point out. There's a certain way to say things and to compliment, not in a vulgar or predatory way.
