It's understood the crash involved 'multiple vehicles' and the road remains closed.
A picture taken from the scene showed ambulance crews and several police in attendance. The road could be seen to have been taped off by officers. An eye-witness told Edinburgh Live: "Ferry Road is completely closed at Muirhouse Green. Police, ambulance, everything there.Lothian Buses updated passengers at 8.25pm, stating: "Due to a road closure buses are unable to serve Ferry Road and are instead diverted via Groathill Road North, Telford Road and Corbiehill Road in both directions until further notice."
