The Tilton Inn in Egg Harbor Township was opened for about 60 years before closing, according to its previous owners.
The Tilton Inn, a bar and restaurant several miles from the Jersey Shore in Atlantic County, has been sold three months afterThe green-roofed building on Tilton Road in Egg Harbor Township closed in April, and was listed for sale with an asking price of about $2.9 million.Zerafa Roessler, a Realtor with Foresite Commercial Realty in nearby Northfield, confirmed the property was under contract, declining to reveal the buyer.
The previous owners did not explain their reason behind closing the restaurant on April 27. The building was built in the 1980s, becoming popular among locals and shore travelers heading toward the Downbeach area of Ventnor City, Margate and Longport. “We are incredibly grateful for your support over the past 60+ years,” the previous owners posted on the Tilton Inn’s Facebook page announcing the closing. “At this time, we have decided it is time for our family to close those doors.
