Ahead of an Environment and Economy Scrutiny meeting at Lincolnshire County Council next week, a report on the county’s visitor economy shows worrying statistics for tourism in Greater Lincolnshire: a dip in trips to our visitor sites, fewer people staying in serviced accommodation and a quieter period for the council’s countryside car parks.
Lincolnshire County Council leader Martin Hill said he is “still not convinced” by a community group’s bid to revitalise the Deepings Leisure Centre. Last month, South Kesteven District Council agreed to a one-time financial contribution of £850,000 to The Deepings Community Leisure Community Interest Company aimed at refurbishing the cherished leisure facility, which was forced to close in July 2021.
