Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital said it was advised on February, 6 the Perrottet government had reserved the funding to be delivered over four years.

"The reality is we have one to two months of funding in cash reserves and we were relying on this government funding to kick on July 1.The facility operates seven days a week, and is free of charge, meaning they cover all costs and builds. Until now they have relied on donations. "We delivered that to the department, waited a couple of months for their panel to meet and deliver their advice to the minister, and unfortunately their advice was our project didn't show value-for-money, in spite of an economic impact study indicating precisely the opposite," Van Mil said."It's really hard on the team.
